Checklist for checking trade settings via Webhook

A recommended checklist for finding an error in TradingView's signal settings. Checking these items will allow the signal to be received and processed.
Automation through webhook technology offers enormous advantages in trading. Properly configured alerts in TradingView or via a custom server ensure uninterrupted opening/averaging/closing or reversing of positions. Below is a checklist of rules/requirements/conditions that will ensure smooth operation of signals and is recommended when tweaking or finding errors in operation.

The signal was received, but the settings did not work

Opening position

  • Restart the account before testing.
  • Use a publicly available strategy or indicator in TradingView. Custom strategies or indicators cannot be considered for testing the performance of an incoming signal.
  • To speed up testing, use the Finandy service test page - http://hook.finandy.com/test
  • Deactivate the Master hook! Or check that it is switched off (this is the default setting).
  • Activate only the OPEN tab - deactivate the others.
  • Use only Buy or Sell. Note that "Strategy" only works for "Strategies" and does not work with indicators.
  • Use a fixed amount (we recommend between 20-50 USDT per order). Using % of full balance or % of free balance for testing is not recommended, this setting does not allow you to evaluate the volume of the position being placed.
  • Use 1 order (not a grid of orders). Set the order type to "Market".
  • If a grid of orders is used - make sure the volume of the order is sufficient for the entire grid of orders.
  • For a futures market: Use leverage up to 20. In rare cases, we recommend trying this position manually with similar leverage. Binance Exchange reserves the right to change the leverage without notice.
  • Choose Long or Short only (especially important if you trade in Hedged Mode).
  • When hedging mode is deactivated, you cannot open a Long and Short trade at the same time.
  • There should be no open positions on this trading pair.
  • There should be no signal received from:
"positionSide": "flat"
  • Testing and processing all placeholders in the received signal message - the Finandy terminal must accept the value from the placeholder, not its name.
  • No 2 alerts should be sent at the same time. It is recommended to set a timeout of 2 seconds or more between alarms.
  • Remove limits on the number of hooks or positions.
  • Remove checkboxes from the Finandy terminal and use settings from the terminal, not from the incoming signal - using placeholders is an advanced configuration option and is not recommended for alert transmission testing options. The testing of the transmitted placeholder values is done by the user.
  • When a signal is received, read the error in 'Notifications' and the 'Signals' tab

DCA

  • Restart the account before testing.
  • Use a publicly available strategy or indicator in TradingView. Custom strategies or indicators cannot be considered for testing the performance of an incoming signal.
  • To speed up testing, use the Finandy service test page - http://hook.finandy.com/test
  • Activate only the DCA tab - deactivate the others.
  • Wait for a position to open on this pair. Wait for the SECOND cue which enables the DCA tab.
  • Remove limits on the number of webhooks or positions placed.
  • All placeholders in the received signal message are processed.
  • Use only Buy or Sell. Note that "Strategy" only works for "Strategies" and does not work with indicators.
  • No 2 alerts should be sent at the same time. It is recommended to set a timeout of 2 seconds or more between alarms.
  • There should be no signal received from:

Close position

  • Restart the account before testing.
  • Use a publicly available strategy or indicator in TradingView. Custom strategies or indicators cannot be considered for testing the performance of an incoming signal.
  • To speed up testing, use the Finandy service test page - http://hook.finandy.com/test
  • Activate only the CLOSE tab - deactivate the others.
  • Open a position on this pair (manually or using a signal from TradingView)
  • Check the hedge mode. Reverse does not work when hedging mode is activated!
  • In REVERSE mode (position rollover from Long/Short to Short/Long and back) we cannot create a grid of reverse orders.
  • The reversal is done through separate webhooks and by sending separate signals with a time delay between incoming signals.
  • If you place a grid and use the reverse option, the position reversal will be the exact position that was at the time, the grid settings will not be applied.
  • You should not receive 2 alerts at the same time. It is recommended to set a timeout of 2 seconds or more between alerts.
  • Uncheck the checkboxes in the Finandy terminal and use the settings from the terminal, not from the incoming signal - using placeholders is an advanced setup option and is not recommended for alert transmission testing options. The testing of the transmitted placeholder values is done by the user.
  • When a signal is received, you can view the error in the Notifications and Signals tab.
